Enhancements to BT Conferencing's Remote Equipment Monitoring (REM)
BT Conferencing’s Remote Equipment Monitoring (REM) service supports video conferencing equipment from the top manufacturers in the industry. We are pleased to announce the following enhancements to this service:
- The addition of the TANDBERG 150MXP and RADVISION SCOPIA to the existing list of products supported by REM
- Variable alert times for REM ticket creation are now available
Coming in February 2007 – REM Version 2
In addition to the above enhancements, BT Conferencing will be making REM even more advantageous for users. REM Version 2, targeted for a February 2007 release, will have the following features:
- New user interface for easier navigation
- Ability to create/display current and future outages for moves, adds or changes
- Find Device feature for easier searches
- Tickets tab with links to open trouble tickets
REM proactively monitors video conferencing elements. This monitoring is done via the BT Conferencing Onward platform, and provides stability and uptime for the video conferencing infrastructure. REM determines when devices become inoperable or unavailable. Devices that can be monitored include:
- Endpoints
- Routers (router interface only)
- Gatekeepers
- Gateways
- Select MCUs
There are several key components within BT Conferencing’s REM service, such as configurable alerts, automatic trouble ticket creation and proactive customer notifications. BT Conferencing works with you to ensure that your video conferencing system is available when it is needed, so that your organization can remain focused on content of your meetings, not the technology.
